About UsTAT Filipinas was founded in 1962, designed by Seiichi Inoue, one of Japan’s best golf course architects who designed 14 of the top 50 golf courses in Japan. It was completed in 1964 as a championship course of 6,490 meters.
In 1975, it was acquired by the Filipinas Golf and Country Club (FGCC) and new facilities were added.
Severe economic difficulties forced the golf course to shut down between 1982 and 1989 until the Filipinas Golf and Country Club entered into an agreement with TAT International to rehabilitate and manage the golf course.
The course was rehabilitated and redesigned during the time of former Tat Filipinas General Manager Yasumaza Koga. He reemphasized the optimization of open spaces, enhancement of natural habitats and areas as originally envisioned by Inoue.
In the beginning, Tat Filipinas was established as an all-Japanese golf club with 1,800 members. It is privately owned and remained exclusive until 6 years ago. Today, the membership has changed the club’s landscape into a truly multi-cultural institution as it opened to accept members from other nations.
In July 2007, Edna Selloriquez Paña, the corporate counsel of theTAT Group of Companies, took over the helm of the golf club. Miss Paña started the transformation of TAT Filipinas into a sustainable golf course not only with a clear mission to serve its members but also an awareness of its role in the community and the environment.
TAT’s primary mission is to provide excellent service and playing quality to its members by ensuring that the course is world class in terms of design aesthetics and playing challenge. This is a continuing, non-stop drive to perfection. Tat Filipinas also has an “open door” policy--the golf course is open and available to everybody, as well as affordable.
At TAT Filipinas, players will be assured of playing quality with its 18-hole, all-weather facility in a sprawling 76-hectare area boasting of 7098 yards of superior playing area. They can enjoy the game without having to worry about harmful chemicals that can damage their health.
